Our swimmers put in a fantastic performance in the first round in Division 2 of the Arena League at Leamington Spa on Saturday 11 October 2021.
2nd & 3rd October 2021
Just a quick note to say a HUGE well done to all of our swimmers who competed at Worcester this weekend. This was the first competitive outing in over 18 months for the majority of the 17 swimmers who took part and the first ever taste of an open meet for some of our younger members.
There are way too many highlights to mention here, but I must give a shout out to Fin F who finished as 'Top Boy' and in doing so has now joined the 'professional' ranks thanks to his cash prize, and on the girls side Emily G finished in a fantastic 2nd place overall. 7 in every 10 swims resulted in personal best times, which is a great achievement given that we've only recently run a full programme of events at our in-house Level X meet.
Many of these will be county qualifying times (to be confirmed once official times are released). A mention also to Eva for cementing her regional short course qualifying times in 9 events and Sam for his 50 free QT, with Bella & Emily a mere whisker away from joining them.
One final standout for me was watching the five of you who took part in the girls & boys 200 fly. It takes lot of guts to enter this particular event and having 5 of the 8 competitors wearing LAMSC hats was a great moment.
Well done again to all of you who were there. Sorry I can't mention everyone here but you all did yourselves and the club proud.
A final thank you to everyone who helped make it possible - Louise, Mark, Craig, Sally, James, Ally and Jonathan. Without officials and team managers we couldn't put these events for ours swimmers.
July 24th & 25th 2021
Firstly, congratulations to Eva, Sam, Emily and Fin F who all competed at the weekend in the West Mids Festival of Swimming. A huge well done to all of you, competing in your first major gala in 18 months. Clearly your efforts at Coventry have been inspiring the British team in Tokyo.
Second, apologies to the many of you who have sent messages about the County Development meet in September. I tried to get another note out to all those eligible before I went away for the weekend but alas time got the better of me. Please bear with me for a couple of days at most and I'll get back to everyone.
Finally, for those who normally swim tonight please find the outline session plan attached. We are likely to have a few spaces free so if anyone is feeling massively inspired by what you've seen at the Olympics (and I hope you have....) then please just drop me a line and I'll be able to give you a yay (most likely) or nay (unlikely). This is just for our 'seniors' thought I'm afraid - that is those of you who would normally swim in the later session (or early on a Sunday)
8th & 9th Feb 2020
Huge congratulations to all of our counties swimmers who have just made a little bit of history by winning 57 medals, gaining 51 regional qualifying times and with a pb success rate of over 70%. We’ll have to dig back through the records to see when the club last performed so successfully as a group, but, regardless of dates and history, we can say for sure that everyone involved gave absolutely everything and we can’t ask for anything more than that.
We would like to take a group photo or two for a press release, so can all 2020 counties swimmers please make every effort to be at training tomorrow (Monday) night. Counties t-shirts and medals / trophies would also be appreciated. We’ll aim to do this between the two sessions. It’ll be a relatively light recovery session tomorrow for the sake of those who have had two long weekends, but it would definitely be beneficial to get in and have a swim. Have Tuesday morning off instead….
Quick thank you to team mangers Mark, Marianne, Andy, Wendy & Anthony for all your organisational help as ever - it’d be utter chaos without you all - and to Jonathan for once again helping us fulfil our officiating obligations.
Final thank you to everyone for helping to make it such a happy and positive place to be involved in; we’re sure it’s transferring into these great performances in the pool.

Congratulations to everyone who took part in this weekend's County Champs - it really was a fantastic performance by our swimmers. Individual achievements are too many to list but between them all they made 41 finals, came away with 27 medals, and secured over 20 regional times.
Medalists were:
Also making finals were, Isobel G, Hattie, Finlay, Aaron, Tom B and Luke with a number of very close-run 4th places between them. Two out of every three of the finals were faster than in the heats - another great achievement. A special mention must go to Ollie who, in addition to his 200m Breaststroke gold, achieved a new Junior Mens County Record in the 100m Breaststroke event (1:08.18), finally lowering the time set by our very own Tom Stokes back in 2007. Fantastic achievement Ollie - well done!! Thanks as always must go to our Team Managers, Mark, Marianne, Wendy & Andy who did an amazing job organising everyone whilst being buried away in a rather chilly sports hall.

The performance of our four long distance swimmers who opened the 2020 Country Championships in fabulous style at Wolverhampton yesterday. Will K, Eva, Ollie & Tom B all came away with pb's in their chosen events, with Ollie & Tom winning silver & bronze medals respectively in the 1500m and Eva a bronze medal in the 800m. Ollie also bagged his first title, winning gold in an extremely gutsy 800m having already competed in the longer distance event a couple of hours earlier.
Huge well done to all four of our swimmers and hope this can inspire and motivate the entire team over the main championships weekends
