It has been a couple of weeks since HALO announced that the Ledbury pool will be closing on the 1st June and we are sure that you would like an update.

Since then your committee and head coach have been engaging with pools and clubs throughout the local area with a determination to establish a temporary timetable as quickly as possible. We are currently negotiating with HALO (all pools but focussing on Ross), Malvern College, Malvern St James, The Elms and Splash plus other local leisure facilities. In addition we have enrolled the support of the ASA and have spoken to Hereford Swimming Club and a number of local swim schools about pool share options.

This all takes time, but the new timetable is taking shape. We have provisionally secured pool time that delivers either the same or slightly more pool hours for each of the swimming groups however the details for securing the associated bookings are still being worked out.

In parallel we are continuing to negotiate with pools and clubs with the aim of geographically distributing the pool time as much as possible.
Alternative land training options are also being considered, and during the refurbishment period it may move back to Ledbury as we are looking for HALO to provide a separate spinning class to our timetable in addition to the aerobic hall-based session. Nothing definite yet, but we hope to secure this in the coming weeks.

We appreciate that everyone is eager to know how things are going to be for our swimmers come the 1st June, and we will provide the refurbishment timetable as soon as we can. Based on our current negotiations we hope to have finalised arrangements in March.

Thank you for your continued support as this will be a temporary issue until the fantastic new Ledbury facility is open.

Please do not hesitate to contact a member of the committee or anyone poolside if you have any questions or comments.
