Round 1 Report

 

On Saturday 17th January LADASC welcomed Abertillery, Baenafon, Newport and Torfaen Swimming Clubs to our pool for the first round of the Wyvern League 2015.

Following the long distance travelling for the Arena League this was a welcome opportunity to have some exciting racing at our own pool.

From the first couple of races it was clear that Newport had sent a very strong team and in the end they were comfortable winners on the night. However, Ledbury performed extremely well with 11 first places and 11 second places.

First places went to Aaron Jackson (Boys 9 – 25m free), James Young (Boys 9&10 – 25m breaststroke), Emma Tillott (Girls 9&10 – 25m free), Oscar Curtis (Boys 9&10 – 25m free), Ben Collins (Boys 9&10 – 25m fly), Daisy Wood (Girls 11/u – 25m fly), Matt Thomas (Boys 13/u – 50m fly), Ellie Ainsworth (Girls 15/u – 100m free) and the relays for Boys 9&10 Freestyle and Medley relay and Boys 13/u Freestyle. A summary of the results is shown below;

Congratulations to all those who took part and supported their team incredibly well and thanks to all those volunteers who helped to make sure the event ran smoothly.
